About the Mike Thomson Trust
The Change a Life Cycle tour is the primary fundraiser for the
Mike Thomson Change a Life Trust, which was set up following the
murder of one of our Computershare colleagues, Mike Thomson, in
September 2007. Computershare together with Mike's family set up
the trust in his honour to help fight the causes and symptoms of
crime. Improving crime detection through DNA sampling, trauma
counselling for victims of crime and sexual abuse, helping to
rehabilitate youngsters in conflict with the law and inspiring
disadvantaged youths to become positive role models in their
communities, are the areas that the Trust fund supports. For more
information about the Trust,

About the Change a Life Cycle Challenge
Computershare organises and manages the annual Change a Life
Cycle and matches rand for rand all funds raised through cyclist
entry fees. Sponsors' donations pay for most of the direct costs
associated with the Change a Life Cycle, ensuring that cyclist
entry fees and Computershare's matched funds go directly to the
Change a Life Trust. The 2010 Change a Life Cycle follows two
successful events in 2008 and 2009, which raised a combined R6
million for the Trust.
The 2010 Change a Life Cycle event takes part in Malawi from 3 to 8
September 2010 with actual cycling days from Saturday the 4th to
Tuesday the 7th. The ±500km cycle route will commence in Lilongwe,
reach Lake Malawi at the Livingstonia Beach Hotel around Salima,
and wend its way along the southern shores of Lake Malawi to Club
Makakola, before heading inland and south into hillier terrain and
finally ending on the top of Zomba Plateau at the Sunbird Ku Chawe
Inn. We already have a long waiting list of corporate executives
wanting to participate in this year's event. Most participants are
directors and senior executives of major South African companies.
